What is a Web Quest? Well, a Web Quest is a guided on-line web activity. They provide the students with a safe, directed web experience in the form of tasks that are related to a specfic topic. Most importantly, the students are not "surfing" but must visit specfic sites set out in the assignment.
Web Quests may be tightly controlled and prescriptive or they may be open ended. Either way, they provide a valuable and safe learning experience on the Internet.
Web Quests can be a valuable tool in doing research projects in that they group websites according to subject matter. You can find a Web Quest for practically any subject! Choose your favourite search engine and type in "Web Quests" + whatever subject you are looking for. Good luck!
