Bridgeview Public School
Code of Behaviour
The Bridgeview School Code of Behaviour is based on the important theme of respect. We expect our students to show respect, be responsible and to do the right thing.
We strive to teach students the difference between acceptable and unacceptable behaviour, and to encourage their cooperation in following rules and guidelines. Our aim is to help students develop inner controls and values to guide their own behaviour and enable them to follow appropriate and reasonable paths.
Disciplined children behave responsibly. This means that we must help each child develop self-control that will lead to patterns of behaviour that are acceptable to society and that will continue to enhance their own welfare and progress. School discipline involves training that will help students make good decisions about their behaviour.
Self-discipline is developed as part of a continuous learning process, and varies with age, level of maturity and personal experience. It is demonstrated in the ability to behave in a socially responsible manner, and it is not dependent upon the presence of an adult. Responsibility for developing self-discipline in students is shared by the students, parents, school and community.
A safe, welcoming school environment is enhanced by proactive plans that ensure the safety and security of all members of the school community and complies with The Lambton Kent Board of Education Policies.
